INSOMNIA MANIAC: Trump spends SECOND sleepless night rage posting

Donald Trump may have been too exhausted to stay awake during Monday’s court session, but he found energy at the end of the day to spill out his feelings on the internet.

The bizarreness began with a 7 pm post, in which Trump announced that he had “just learned” that in addition to not being able to attend his son Barron’s graduation, he would also be prohibited from skipping court to attend Supreme Court oral arguments on presidential immunity.

It’s not surprising that Trump would be upset about that revelation, even though he would not be able to participate in oral arguments, only observe his attorneys doing so. It’s more surprising, though, that he would announce this as something he’d just heard at 7 pm, considering that it was one of the first rulings of the day, and that he had ranted about it in front of press as he left the court hours earlier.

Then came a post about the legal process.

Normally, a judge will ask potential jurors if they have any biases that would prevent them from judging the case fairly, and further question those who say yes. In Trump’s case, the level of publicity and his infamy compelled Judge Juan Merchan to streamline the process, allowing those who said they couldn’t judge fairly to leave en masse, then applying the questions to those who stayed.

Trump’s supporters, including law professor John Yoo, infamous himself for authoring memos that supported “enhanced interrogation techniques” implemented during the Bush Administration, are twisting this to suggest both that everyone who left did so because they hate Trump, and that this means the remaining jurors are unfair. Trump shared the quote:

Law Professor John Yoo: “It’s pretty extraordinary…half of the jury pool already says that they’re so biased against President Trump that they can’t serve on the jury…”

The court did not establish whether those who left were biased against Trump or in his favor, though Trump has both claimed that he can’t get a fair trial in New York because nobody likes him, and that he’s so beloved in the state that he’s going to win it in the election this year.

By morning, Trump had reverted to his routine complaints, saying that the judge hates him and is “conflicted,” and that it’s unfair to impose a gag order. He complained:

“This conflicted, Trump Hating Judge won’t let me respond to people that are on TV lying and spewing hate all day long. He is running rough shod over my lawyers and legal team…I want to speak, or at least be able to respond.”

Trump has a hearing next week for the court to consider whether he’s already violated the gag order, which does not forbid him to speak about the case, but says he can’t attack witnesses for the purpose of interfering with the proceedings.
