BACKFIRING: Trump GOES APOPLECTIC on RFK Jr.

Donald Trump is raging over the latest reports that Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s candidacy might be worse for him than for incumbent President Joe Biden if RFK Jr. serves as a spoiler in the 2024 race.

Kennedy’s family has endorsed Biden, and now Trump seems to be doing so as well, at least if it comes down to the other two candidates. In one of a series of posts Friday night, he declared, “I’d even take Biden over” Kennedy.

Trump has previously declared Kennedy to be the most radical left candidate in the race — yes, Kennedy, with his anti-vax conspiracy theories and demands to close the border. He repeated Friday night his regular complaints about Kennedy’s support of clean energy. Trump wrote:

“A Vote for Junior’ would essentially be a WASTED PROTEST VOTE, that could swing either way, but would only swing against the Democrats if Republicans knew the true story about him. Junior’ is totally Anti-Gun, an Extreme Environmentalist who makes the Green New Scammers look Conservative, a Big Time Taxer and Open Border Advocate, and Anti-Military/Vet.”

Side note: it’s not completely clear why Trump adds the apostrophe or single quote mark each time he calls Kennedy “Junior.” He repeated the same punctuation several times over the course of a few posts, suggesting it was intentional, or at least a pattern, rather than a single typo.

Trump also seemed confused about the profession of Kenendy’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan. He said:

“She puts herself down as a businesswoman, or maybe a doctor, and actually, I guess you could say that she’s right. Her business was doing surgery on her husband’s wallet!”

Shanahan is an attorney who founded a company to provide legal advice to tech companies and is divorced from a Google co-founder.

Trump also lashed out over Kennedy’s anti-vax conspiracy theories, alleging that the Independent candidate was faking them to draw away right-wing supporters. He griped:

“His Views on Vaccines are FAKE, as is everything else about his Candidacy.”

This comes as another survey result shows RFK Jr. nabbing votes from Trump rather than Biden. The data showed that given the choice between Trump and Biden, voters are at an even split and that they stay evenly split when RFK Jr. is thrown in the mix. His voters, however, have a lean. Axios reports:

“But force RFK voters to choose and they break 47%-29% for Trump.”

In other recent polls, Biden’s percentages increased when 3rd-party candidates, including Kennedy, were added to the mix.

No wonder Trump is worried.
