Ivanka Trump just exposed her cynical hypocrisy with visit to Colombia refugee camp
Over the past week, the First Daughter and White House “special advisor” Ivanka Trump has been quietly traveling around South America with a delegation from the State Department, acting as her father’s representative and dutifully starring in the Trump administration’s cynical and monstrously insincere propaganda efforts.
Her Wednesday visit to a Venezuelan refugee camp in Colombia has put the Trump administration’s appalling hypocrisy in sharp focus.

Four million people have fled Venezuela since 2013 due to violence and economic instability, but curiously enough there was no mention from Ivanka about how her father’s sanctions on Venezuela has made an unhealthy economy much worse while diminishing shipments of food and medicine to the beleaguered nation or how his attempted coup earlier this year further fanned the flames of chaos.
It appears that when they can be exploited for imperialist propaganda in service of an undemocratic and illegal agenda of regime change against the government of an oil-rich nation, the Trump team suddenly cares deeply about refugees.
But when refugees from South America are at our own border, many of them fleeing violence and instability produced by decades of America’s rapacious foreign policy, the Trump administration has them herded into concentration camps and forced to endure deliberately appalling conditions.
If they aren’t being thrown into CPB’s sexual abuse factories, refugees are often deported back to where they came from or forced to wait in dangerous areas in Mexico, where they are vulnerable to the predations of brigands and gang members.

Immigrants and refugees are degraded and dehumanized by the President and his allies on a regular basis, portrayed as invading criminals and resource-sucking leeches.
But of course, Ivanka Trump has not made any visits to the detention centers on the American border, nor has she made any statements condemning her father’s treatment of the refugees and immigrants.
More than willing to be a prop for National Security Advisor John Bolton’s psychotic plans to depose to Maduro regime, this incident is a clear demonstration that Ivanka is just as complicit as anyone else in the Trump administration — and that she, like her father, sees people of color as useful props to be used and immediately abandoned.
