Betsy DeVos Just Tried To Visit A Public School, And It Blew Up In Her Face (VIDEO)
This morning, new Education Secretary Betsy DeVos attempted to visit Jefferson Middle School in Washington D.C. in what might have been one of her first interactions with a public school. However, as she approached the door DeVos found herself physically blocked by protestors, many of them parents who are appalled by her proposed policies that look poised to destroy public school education.

Billionaire DeVos has never attended a public school, nor did she deign to send her own children to public school. She has been a school choice advocate in Michigan for decades (with disastrous effects for the state’s students) and is a major Republican donor who bought her cabinet spot. Despite her interest in “educational activism,” DeVos actually has no relevant qualifications or experience, making her an atrocious pick for a spot in Donald Trump’s cabinet.
Fortunately, parents are fierce and relentless advocates when it comes to their children’s future and, as we have seen today, they are not about to stand by and let DeVos gut public education and further harm poor children’s opportunities. Today was a slap in the face for DeVos; as the nation’s top education policy leader, she cannot even enter a school.
